Peguyangan Waterfall Nusa Penida – Please don’t go down!

Peguyangan Waterfall might be very dangerous for those without any experience in hiking since it is very step. It is strongly not recommended to go down during raining season because the stairs will be slippery. It is situated southwest of the island and 1 hour drive from Toya Pakeh Harbour.

A Steep and Narrow Staircase 

Peguyangan Waterfall, Nusa Penida. Here you have to dare your self to go down if you visit this place, since it’s a little steep. However if you arrive at the bottom part, you can find pure water, sacred temple, Indian ocean & gorgeous cliffs. Before entering the place you have to wear Sarong which provided by local people.

There is a temple at the bottom part that’s why you have to wear sarong when visiting Peguyangan Waterfall. Please always follow the rule and respect local culture. 

Can we swim at Peguyangan Waterfall 

Traveller is allowed to swim here however the swimming water is small so you can’t move as a swim at swimming pool. So it’s not suitable for swimming actually. 

Natural Spring at Peguyangan Waterfall 

Natural water spring at the bottom part is used for purification healing. The water is believed to have healing properties.

Atuh Beach is perfect for sunbathing & swimming, there are some beach umbrellas as well, so you can rent it and enjoy the spectacular view while Diamond Beach is not perfect for sunbathing or swimming since the waves are quite big.

  • Comfortable Clothing: Nusa Penida is hot, wearing lightweight and breathable fabrics are recommended
  • Timing: Consider visiting Diamond Beach during low tide for a better experience and going there in the morning is recommended due to less people, the weather is not hot and the sea is calm

Giri Putri Cave Temple Nusa Penida – Holy Temple, Very Narrow & Purification

Giri Putri Cave Temple is one of the important temples in Nusa Penida. Many Hindu who pray there daily or even during the full moon, new moon, kajeng kliwon, or other Hindu religious days. The entrance of this temple is very narrow, in which we can only bend down to enter the cave, where the temple is located. But once we are inside the cave, we will admire how huge it is. In the center of the cave, we can see temples built by local people. Here, we can pray or do purification.

Atuh Beach is located in the east side on Nusa Penida. It is also called Raja Ampat version of Bali. Scenic cliff and blue ocean will pamper your vacation. You can also enjoy the white sand, which takes you to go down the stairs.

Paluang Cliff Nusa Penida – Instagrammable Spot in the Island

Paluang Cliff is one of instagrammable photo spots in Nusa Penida that offers the beauty of cliffs and sunset in the evening. The Kelingking Cliff is clearly visible from here. 

The view in Paluang Cliff is so beautiful, located near from Kelingking Beach, here you can admire the cliff view and the blue ocean. If you’re lucky enough, you can find group of monkeys roaming around here and there.

To enter this area you have to pay entrance fee at IDR. 25.000 per person and you can take photos on the places that already provided by local people. If you do not want to take photos and you do not need to pay entrance fee.
